Miami Central’s running game was phenomenal as usual as the Rockets ran all over Boynton Beach last Friday.
Senior Dalvin Cook led Central with four touchdowns, three coming from rushing the ball and the fourth off an 85-yard punt return. The running back finished with 116 yards as Central defeated the Tigers 55-37.
Cook’s partner in crime, Joseph Yearby, added on 83 yards and a touchdown to help the Rockets to a 48-point first half.
Boynton Beach held Central to only a touchdown in the second half, most of which saw the Rockets’ second strings in. The damage was already done, the Tigers failing to pull off a threatening comeback.
This victory bumps Central to the regional final, where they prepare to face Dillard on November 22.
Currently ranking 2nd in Florida and 7th in the DigitalSports National Football Rankings, Miami Central enters Friday’s game with both preparation and confidence.
